Michelin Stars are awarded by the Michelin Red Guide, the oldest and most well known European hotel and restaurant guide book. The Michelin Star rating has become a very prestigious award for any restaurant and its Chef, and the guide has been known to take away a star if a restaurant falls in quality for some reason. For the island of Mallorca to have five restaurants with Michelin stars is quite an achievement and a great complement to Mallorcan cuisine, its chefs and its restaurants.
